Problems of
distilled water
It has been suggested that because
distilled or reverse osmosis produced water lacks fluoride ions which
are normally added at a water treatment plant for its effect on the
inhibition of cavity formation, the drinking of distilled water may
conceivably increase the risk of tooth decay due to a lack of this
element.
However, fluoride is not an essential
mineral for the human body, so this claim is quite dubious.
Regardless, most people continue to cook with common tap water and
this is thought to potentially provide sufficient fluoride to maintain
normal Prophylaxis in many instances. Any other minerals in tap water
such as calcium and magnesium are present in such minuscule amounts
that their absence is compensated for many thousands of times over by
other dietary sources. (Source:

Facts
Solar Water Distillers
operate on the same principles that
produce rainfall. The sun is allowed into and trapped in the Solar
Water Distiller.
The high temperatures produced destroy all pathogens. The water
evaporates, and in this process, only pure water vapor rises in the
Still, only to condense on the glass. The glass is sloped to the
south, and the condensed water runs down the glass and is collected in
a trough. The water is allowed out of the collector through silicone
tubing, and is collected in 5 gallon glass jugs. There are no moving
parts in the solar still, and only the sun's energy is required for
operation.
